The images below are the ones used in the creation of the collage header/banner at the top of this SeanFenlon.com website.

They represent key highlights, events, and relationships in my life.

Me meeting with Pat Metheny after his concert at Lisner Auditorium in 2004 — The Way Up tour (a recording that changed my life). I gave him a copy of my Doctoral Dissertation because he allowed me to interview him by phone for it years earlier. I also let him know that I would be building a fan site at www.PatMethenyMusic.com which has been live since then.
In 2010, I was the CEO of DoublePositive. We were designing a new website and wanted to do something very original on the About Us — Team page. I decided to schedule a professional photo shoot for the whole company. We took one professional headshot pic and then one fun shot with props to display a non-business side of each person’s persona. I chose this pic and labelled it “The Maestro” which became a sort of industry nickname of mine for a while. This is the only pic I know of me with the long hair NOT pulled back into a pony tail. The pony tail was chopped on on April 2, 2012 and I have felt ordinary ever since. :-(
In 2011, I was honored by being a winner of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Maryland as the Founder of DoublePositive. I was genuinely surprised — I believe that feeling came across in my speech. :-)
A post-award pose with my wife Terri and my parents.
I joined YPO in 2009 and joined a world-class YPO Forum. In 2013, our Forum was functioning at such a high level that we all agreed to a week long Forum Retreat in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This pic was taken with my iPhone 4 (the first iPhone with a front camera — which was only released a year or two earlier), making this possibly one of the first EVER selfies with “Christ the Redeemer” ;-)
Also in 2013, I attended a YPO Chapter Event at our Chapter Chair’s (at the time) home. It was scheduled the same night as the 2013 Oscar Awards. Thus, upon arrival, members were presented with a Oscar Award of their own and their picture was taken. Love this. :-)
I have had the distinct privilege of taking my family to YPO Disney in 2014, 2016, and 2018. The amazing hosts always surprise the guests with popular artist performances and then meet-and-greet with the artists. The two top pics are from 2016 with the boy band Forever in Your Mind and Rachel Platten (when her “Fight Song” was still topping the pop charts). The bottom pic is also from 2016 with a surprise performance from the one and only Flo Rida.
I was introduced to the music Snarky Puppy and also met Michael League for the first time in 2014. This 2015 pic with Michael League is after a private screening in DC of Snarky Puppy Family Dinner Volume 2, which I was in the audience during the recording. :-O
In early 2016, LA Reid was a judge of our own private “X Factor” YPO event. I was asked to perform in front of LA Reid, so I asked my good friend Kyle Coughlin to join me — we reproduced a performance from 20+ years earlier with Kyle on Tenor Sax and me accompanying him on piano (I’m NOT a piano player :-S). Kyle killed it, and LA went on to thank us for “making his night.” :-)
I went on to introduce Michael League to LA Reid on Twitter: https://twitter.com/seanfenlon/status/697281005246402560
DoublePositive was successfully acquired in 2015. By 2016, I had founded ABOVO and we moved into a fancy new office in McHenry Row. We decided to host a Happy Hour for all DoublePositive alumni (at the time) in May 2016. One of my favorite group pics EVER :-)
I had first learned about the musical phenom genius Jacob Collier via his participation in Snarky Puppy Family Dinner Volume 2 (which I was in the audience for during the recording in February 2015). I kept in touch, and in September 2016, I had the absolute pleasure of hosting Jacob for our own Private Concert for my YPO Chapter members and their families. I gifted Jacob the JacobCollier.com domain that I had purchased — he was still using JacobCollier.co.uk at the time. I was re-tweeted by Quincy Jones after this event. :-)
This me with my Dad who goes by the grandparent name “Doc” — front-row court side seats for Washington Wizards vs Orlando Magic March 2017 to celebrate his 70th birthday. Tickets provided by my YPO friend and super-wonderful human being Michael O’Neil :-)
This 2018 golf foursome-selfie includes ABOVO co-founder Chad Mathias, Scott Schoberg, and my hero Dave Blundin as part of ABOVOfest 2018 on the signature hole at Dave’s amazing club, Turner Hill. We were celebrating the launch of ABOVO 2.0 on the new domain ABOVO.co :-)
This is me celebrating at the Redskins training facility where my YPO Group was welcomed for an AMAZING event in November 2018 — especially for life-long Redskins fans like me: https://www.abovo.co/sean@abovo42.com/56880 :-)
This was a bucket-list photo opp for me… In January 2019, I was the Co-Day Chair of our YPO Chapter Retreat in Annapolis, MD. The opening keynote event was Scott Ferber interviewing Doug Lebda for a fireside chat. The two ORIGINAL Internet Entrepreneurs. Internet OG. I talk about them both in more detail in my opinions about OMISSIONS from the book “How the Internet Happened.” I’m happy to call Doug and Scott ABOVO Advisors and Shareholders :-)
This is me with my hero Dave Blundin — Head of Link Ventures, Cogo Labs, Everquote, Vestmark, Jobcase, and countless others — at the Annual “Friends of Link Ventures” event in 2019. Dave is my hero. He is the single most-successful human I know in-person, and it has been a dream come true to work with him as an ABOVO business partner since our founding in 2015. :-)
These last two images were taken at Northside Park in August 2019 right next to our beach condo in Ocean City, MD that we’ve owned for 15+ years (kids are 15, 14, and 12 in the picture). It was a self-serve family portrait during sunset. Canon EOS DSLR on a tripod with a timer — Aperture priority at F1.8 and ISO 200. My face it bright red because I was staring directly at the sun during my setup of the “photo shoot” :-)
