There has been a lot of buzz in the Baltimore Tech community for the past few months as rumors circulated about Scott Ferber and his new endeavor (that was operating in stealth mode). The rumors ended this week with the official announcement of the first institutional round of funding for TidalTV.
I have been a big fan of Scott’s for years as I have watched how he and his brother John grew Advertising.com in an industry-leading powerhouse. Scott and John were co-founders and sold Ad.com to AOL for a bundle in 2004 and left the company a couple of years later.
This announcement is Scott’s first return to “the game.”
My understanding is that TidalTV will operate out of Canton for the time being, which will make us neighbors after our move into our new office space in Canton Crossing.
Scott will act as Chairman while Mollie Spilman (former CMO of Ad.com) will take the role of CEO. Here’s wishing Scott and Mollie the best.
The beginning of a new era, indeed.
